These are the bars from the Merrion, Windsor and Fitzwilliam horseshoe arch type cast iron inserts. Four horizontal bars the top of which is decorated with three finniels. (In days of old these would have been drilled and tapped to fit a swinging trivet). The ashpan cover has elegant "bracket" decoration.
