Rectangular Tiles

The rectangular 6 inch x 2 inch glazed fireplace tiles became in demand for hearths and fireplaces around 1900. The 6 x 3 sized fireplace tile came into common use during the Edwardian period and was mainly used in hearths and fenders. In the 1950s, 1960s and into the 1970s. The 6 x 3 size of tile has also been in demand for many years as a wall tile, especially in areas that will get exposure to water or get a lot of wear or damage such as kitchens, bathrooms and toilets.
